« Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days»
Quohelet II,I
Extracted from the Ecclesiastes, this verse expresses both the signification and the form proposed by the theme of the 3rd edition of the Biennale of Pisa.
Imagine a time when water is memory and presence.
Imagine its use and re-use.
Invent buildings that give it its purity back.
Let water go through districts but also houses and buildings.
Show it on the verticality on towers. Tame it, love it, respect it.
In a real place, the Republican Arsenal of Pisa, we imagined a space able to welcome a possible, feasible and coherent architecture, in which water becomes a matter of the project.
We thought a continent, that became an island, the Pangaea, converted and convertible over time, metaphor of the city of Pisa, firstly skimmed by the sea and then crossed by the river.
